Job Description

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: X-Ray Duration: Permanent Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 40 Hours per 2 Week Pay Period Experience: 1-5 years in Radiologic Technology License: ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: 1-5 years experience in Radiologic Technology, Fluoroscopy experience, Surgical experience Description: The Radiologic Technologist performs quality diagnostic radiological exams on customers as ordered by providers. Customers may be infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The Technologist may also perform other radiological procedures within the scope of licensure, for example, EKGs and Dexa bone scans. Essential duties and responsibilities include performing accurate imaging exams as ordered by physicians/providers and presenting them for review. The Technologist administers EKGs and presents results to the physician/provider for review. Critical thinking skills must be applied appropriately, and emergent situations must be recognized and responded to suitably. The Technologist is responsible for maintaining daily records and ensuring the department is neat and orderly. Accurate customer medical records must be maintained while ensuring confidentiality. The imaging and EMR computer systems should be utilized correctly. Daily checks of systems and appropriate documentation must be performed. Daily, weekly, and monthly quality control testing must be conducted as required. Professional interaction with providers, co-workers, customers, and families is essential. Other duties may be assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals. The team member is accountable for demonstrating proficiency in the skills outlined. Maintaining skill proficiency, including improvement and upgrading any additional or new skills, is necessary. Legal, regulatory, accrediting, and procedural requirements related to the area of responsibility must be recognized and followed. It is important to protect customer and team member privacy and only access related information as needed to perform job duties. Any violations or areas of concern should be reported to the supervisor or compliance officer via established methods of communication. Adherence to corporate principles and standards of conduct is essential. Maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions is a priority.
