Position: Ultrasonographer- Glenwood Springs, CO Location : Glenwood Springs, CO Project Duration : 14 Weeks Pay range : $70- $75/ Hour Shift : 5-8 hour shifts, Mon-Fri Job Description: Valley View Imaging Department is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist Traveler to work in a variety of specialties. Able to assist with biopsies, perform breast imaging in addition to general, vascular, small parts and 1st trimester OB. Position will provide services for inpatient and outpatient care. Key Responsibilities Perform ultrasound imaging examinations (e.g., abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, musculoskeletal) as requested by physicians or imaging department. Prepare equipment and patient (positioning, explaining procedures, obtaining informed consent if required). Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images, adjust parameters as needed for optimal image quality. Correlate clinical information with imaging findings and provide preliminary image evaluation and documentation (as per local regulations). Ensure patient safety, including screening for contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, allergies to contrast if used), following infection control and radiation safety protocols. Maintain ultrasound equipment, perform routine quality control and cleaning, report malfunctions or calibration needs. Maintain accurate patient records, image archives, and departmental logs; ensure timely delivery of images/reports to radiologists and referring physicians. Collaborate with radiologists, other imaging technologists, nursing and front-desk staff to schedule patients and optimize throughput. Provide patient care and support — reassure anxious patients, explain procedures, ensure comfort and privacy. Adhere to departmental and hospital policies, accreditation standards (e.g., IEC/ISO for imaging), clinical governance and regulatory requirements. Stay current with developments in ultrasound technology, clinical applications, and best practices; attend training and continuing education as required. Participate in quality improvement initiatives (image review, protocol optimisation, patient satisfaction feedback). REQUIREMENTS: 2 years ultrasound experience. BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) ARDMS Registered or ARRT(S). Flu Vaccine Required - No exemptions
