Datacenter IT Technician Trainee (12 months), Data Centre Operations, Sydney Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd. Join our team to learn the daily operations of a large data center and work hands‑on with servers and network equipment. You will interact with logistics, networking, security, and other teams to get the job done. There is never a dull moment as each day presents new challenges. You will work under the Data Center Operations team, which designs, installs, and maintains the world’s largest computing infrastructure. We are looking for candidates willing to commit to a 12‑month contract. The successful candidate will receive coaching and periodic assessments to develop skills. After the 12‑month period, you may be interviewed for a full‑time position within Amazon. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot all hardware and related problems. Perform basic level OS and configuration troubleshooting. Replace parts of and devices. Sanitize and destroy storage media (HDD, SSD, etc.). Maintain a high level of system reliability by prioritizing resolution of trouble tickets efficiently. Follow DC operations, logistics, security, and safety related processes and guidelines. Practice and enforce Amazon’s security and safety best practices. Basic Qualifications Basic knowledge of IT hardware (desktops, laptops, servers) and configurations. Basic IT troubleshooting knowledge. Physical ability to lift and rack equipment using lifting equipment. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle to travel between sites. Preferred Qualifications Diploma at university or TAFE. Linux knowledge. Networking knowledge. Passion about IT infrastructure and hardware.
