Purpose of the Function The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field‑based expert on argenx’s scientific data, products and trials. The MSL engages with medical stakeholders at centers across the region, patient groups, policy makers and government payors, reflecting argenx’s science‑driven, patient‑centric values. They map the patient journey, identify unmet medical needs, data gaps and collaborative opportunities while supporting the international Medical Affairs team. Roles and Responsibilities Maintain highest scientific and medical expertise of all relevant diseases and products; be acknowledged internally and externally as an expert. Develop productive relationships and collaborations with all relevant stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and professional organizations. Support the development and implementation of Medical Affairs plans to advance argenx objectives. Assist market‑access activities and healthcare policy efforts across the region. Shape argenx’s position within the region. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local pharmaceutical regulation and ensure adherence to argenx policies and procedures. Conduct timely and informative scientific/medical exchanges that accurately reflect scientific data. Deliver high quality scientific/medical education in various settings, covering diseases of interest, clinical studies, investigational products and future licensed products. Gather external stakeholder feedback for internal dissemination. Coordinate timely responses to internal and external Medical Information inquiries in line with regulatory requirements. Attend local, national and international meetings and congresses to gather intelligence, forge collaborations and share insights within argenx. Collaborate closely with all argenx functions to ensure operations remain patient‑focused and respond rapidly to internal and external requests. Skills and Competencies Entrepreneurial spirit and proven ability to work independently and with cross‑functional teams across functions and geographies. Strong influencing skills enabling effective engagement with stakeholders and internal partners. Rapid grasp of complex disease areas, treatments, clinical development plans, healthcare landscape, patient journey and market‑access processes. Track record of building productive collaborations with medical experts. Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver results that meet or exceed objectives. Effective teamwork within cross‑functional, multicultural and multi‑lingual environments. Agile, adaptable and resilient in a dynamic, fast‑moving, changing business environment. Experience in project management, proactive planning, priority setting and securing alignment. Eagerness to continuously learn, self‑improve and contribute to a culture grounded in co‑creation, innovation, empowerment, excellence and humility. Education and Experience Scientific, healthcare or medical degree (MS, PharmD, PhD, MD, RN, PA). At least 2 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry (Medical Affairs) or academic research (e.g., PhD, postdoctoral research) or as a practicing physician in a medically relevant field. Clinical experience in neurology, immunology and/or rare diseases is an advantage. Knowledge of regulations and practices related to industry interactions with healthcare professionals.
