System Safety Engineer with active secret security clearance pre with Security Clearance

TITLE: System Safety Engineer with active secret security clearance preferred (US Citizenship REQUIRED) RATE RANGE: $80/hr - $100/hr depends on experience and benefits chosen LOCATION: Onsite in Tucson, Arizona 85756 (no relocation package) DURATION: 6 months, contract to hire CLEARANCE: Active secret or ability to obtain a secret No C2C, we can NOT work with outside agencies/vendors, and we can NOT do 1099-US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED As a Principal System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Analysis of engineering hardware and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance Working with test and tactical operating and maintenance procedures to assure the proper administrative controls are in place Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. Provide creative solutions to maximize safety functionality without impeding critical performance. Providing leadership in collaborations with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal RESPONSIBILITIES * Design of concise, testable safety requirements or providing safety analysis of existing requirements * Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses * Placement in challenging or under-performing programs with the expectation of improvement of the safety program * Managing multiple-large system safety programs or a safety product line * Collaborating with other disciplines during program technical execution, * Interfacing with key stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors) * Mentoring Multiple Jr. Engineers * Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval * Streamlining processes and reports across a product line for improved efficiency * Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process * Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military * standards * Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program * Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design REQUIRED SKILLS: Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR an Associate's degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience. In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required. Experience with: System Safety Engineering, System Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, or equivalent Safety Engineering experience in areas such as Aerospace, Automotive or Medical Device. The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
