Job Description Job Description Snelling is recruiting for a skilled Fabrication Services Technician for a company in the Birmingham area. Position reports to Director of Operation. This position is in the Fabrication Services Department with responsibilities that pertain to the assembly and fabrication of customized fluid system solutions that improve our customers’ business operations. Help develop customer thoughts and ideas into workable solutions with input and guidance from other team members. COMPETENCIES · Adaptability/Resilience: Recovers quickly from change or setbacks · Communication: Active listening style that achieves understanding, appreciation for others and expressing oneself in a clear and well-articulated fashion appropriate to audience. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Customer Service: Delivering, anticipating, and maintaining professionalism with customers. · Initiative: Acts on opportunities · Optimism: Always references the positives in any situation · Results Orientation: Gets results in a consistent and reliable manner · Teamwork/Collaboration: To be supportive of all company initiatives, act collaboratively with · other sales consultants and other company associates, customer relationship orientation · Work Habits: Attention to detail, planning and organization, strong work ethic, ability to function autonomously, work with a sense of urgency KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Ability to work from general instructions, shop drawings, fluid system schematics, P & IDs, · blueprints, and/or diagrams. · Achieve and maintain certifications that are required to assemble products. · Ability to apply Distributor Policy and SQS to all custom solutions activities. · Interact with customers via face-to-face meetings or with the use of technology. · Assist with reporting for the department. · Maintain the equipment that is used by the department. WORK ENVIRONMENT: · Warehouse Environment · Ability to lift 50 pounds · % Of Time Spent Traveling: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: · Associate Degree (Industrial Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology) · preferred, or equivalent work experience. The ability to achieve certifications in required assembly methods. · 3 years technical experience · Hands on mechanical experience · Experience and understanding of Assembly / Fabrication, Orbital Welding, Tube Bending, Blueprint reading, math skills and tool use · Valid driver’s license and good driving record (must be insurable) · Visual Acuity requirements for near, distance and color Interested and qualified candidates for the Fabrication Services Technician position should submit their resume to whittney@snellingbham.com for immediate consideration.
