Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Radiology Technician Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 12/01/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, flexible Employment Type: Travel X-Ray Technologist - Evening, Weekend, On Call Job Description The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic imaging procedures in accordance with physicians' orders while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This essential role includes verifying patient identity, explaining procedures, and producing diagnostic-quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist. Responsibilities Verifying patients' identity and reviewing physicians' orders before beginning x-ray procedures. Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs. Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and addressing their concerns. Positioning patients appropriately, including assisting those with limited mobility. Ensuring the safe and proper use of radiologic equipment while minimizing radiation exposure. Observing patients' status and interpreting age-specific needs throughout the procedure. Producing high-quality images suitable for radiological interpretation. Notifying management of any damaged or malfunctioning equipment. Utilizing electronic patient information systems for record keeping and image management. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current New York State license (or ability to obtain prior to starting). A minimum of 2 years of X-Ray Technologist experience, including Level 1 trauma center experience. Experience using c-arm/o-arm within the past 8 months. BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Ability to lift and move patients, with a capacity for prolonged standing. Schedule This position requires flexibility, including evening shifts, weekends, on-call duties, callbacks, and holiday work as needed.
