Pay Information $2,602 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required; will consider candidates with 1 year of experience if they have prior travel experience. License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP; prefer intermediate or advanced FHM Must-Have: Must have LDRP experience. Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections. Must be comfortable assisting with catching baby and transitioning baby. Experience with high-risk patients such as those with preeclampsia, diabetes, and psychosocial issues is necessary. Description: This position involves working in a Labor and Delivery setting. The unit consists of a total of 34 beds including postpartum beds and triage beds. An average of 150-180 births occur per month. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 for Labor and Delivery and 1:3-4 for couplets. RNs are required to titrate drips, including magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin. There is a surgical tech available 24/7 and a patient care assistant with clerical duties on each shift. An Client/hospitalist and NNP are in-house 24/7 for emergent cases and triaging patients. Anesthesia services are available 24/7, with providers on-site. Telemetry/monitor techs are present in the unit, and RNs are required to read their own strips. Block scheduling is offered when requested. There is a weekend requirement of working every other weekend. Holidays will be rotated with permanent staff. Floating to Mother Baby and postpartum is required; no floating to NICU or outside the department. Travelers should be adaptable to workflows and policies in place.
