Pay Information $2,602 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Must have LDRP experience. Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections. Must be comfortable assisting with catching baby and transitioning baby. Experience in high-risk cases including Preeclampsia, Diabetes, and Psych/Social issues is necessary. Willingness to work with a variety of situations is essential. Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in Labor and Delivery. The unit has 34 total beds and provides comprehensive care in childbirth. An average of 150-180 births occurs monthly, with a total of 2,133 deliveries in the previous year. The nurse-to-patient ratios follow established guidelines, with ratios of 1:2 for Labor and Delivery and 1:3-4 for postpartum couples. Nurses are required to titrate drips such as Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin. There is support from a surgical tech and patient care assistant during each shift. An OB/GYN hospitalist and neonatal nurse practitioner are available 24/7. Anesthesia services are also in-house around the clock. The unit utilizes Electronic Fetal Monitoring Systems for patient tracking. Weekend work is required every other weekend, with rotating holiday obligations. Nurses will be expected to function in postpartum and assist with routine mom and baby competencies. The manager provides feedback to staff and values quality care.
