Job Description

Location: Pietermaritzburg Industry: Automotive Our client is seeking a highly organised and proactive Logistics & Stock Controller to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong operational, planning, and stock control capabilities to support a fast-paced and hands-on environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing stock accuracy, coordinating fitment routes, and providing essential operational and administrative support to ensure seamless daily operations. Minimum Requirements Matric (minimum). 2–3 years’ experience in stock control, logistics, or operations administration (preferred). Experience within the automotive sector is advantageous. Valid driver’s license (essential). Local route knowledge beneficial. Skills & Competencies Strong organisational and time management abilities. High attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills. Strong communication and coordination abilities. Computer literate (Excel, Outlook, Word, Google Sheets & stock management systems/apps). Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities. Willingness to assist practically when required (hands-on fitments). Ability to supervise and delegate tasks effectively. Key Responsibilities Stock Management Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile variances. Monitor stock usage and communicate restocking needs. Ensure the stock room is organised with controlled access. Fitment & Route Planning Develop and manage efficient daily/weekly route plans for fitment teams. Schedule optimally to reduce downtime and travel inefficiencies. Track unfitted vehicles and ensure timely follow-ups. Returns & Quality Control Manage all product returns and exchanges. Record reasons for returns and provide feedback to relevant departments. Oversee storage and condition of returned stock. Administrative Support Provide backup support for invoicing, job cards, and customer coordination. Capture fitment and delivery data accurately. Assist with reporting and general operational requirements. Fitment Assistance (as needed) Perform car seat cover fitments at the branch or on-site during peak demand.
