Enterprise Data Architect

Location: Spain, Portugal or Poland Client: Banking Industry Role: Senior Data & Cloud Architect Experience: 7 years Education: University degree in Technology (preferably Computer Science) About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Data & Cloud Architect to join our team supporting our Banking Client in the UK. This role is critical in designing and overseeing the implementation of IT solutions that address complex business needs. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high‑performing architectures aligned with strategic goals. Key Responsibilities Translate business and technical requirements into architectural designs. Create and maintain architecture documentation (diagrams, specifications, design docs). Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams. Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies. Collaborate with developers, engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions. Conduct code and architecture reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Support project teams during implementation and troubleshoot technical issues. Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance policies. Produce specifications for cloud-based or on‑prem components, tiers, and interfaces. Mandatory Skills REST fundamentals and API design (OpenAPI Specification 3.0 preferred) Strong knowledge of API standards and patterns Experience across front‑end, middleware, and back‑end technologies Infrastructure, networking design, and AWS cloud architecture Software architecture patterns and design principles Strategic planning and systems analysis Data modeling (star / snowflake schemas), normalization, and efficient storage Experience with data structures (tables, views, stored procedures) Ability to design solutions across People, Process, and Technology Understanding of business concepts and decision‑making frameworks Knowledge of transitional architecture Excellent communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences Strategic mindset and project management proficiency Nice to Have Experience in solution design and API architecture Key Qualities Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities Collaborative and adaptable mindset Flexibility to respond to evolving requirements Would you like help formatting this for LinkedIn’s job posting interface or creating a visual banner to go with it?
