Systems Engineer (4571) with Security Clearance

SMX is seeking a Systems Engineer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD for the NAVAIR Systems Engineering Department in support of PMA-281. The program is providing systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms including technical research and development of technologies, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapon, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Performs programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems; guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems; and employing systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems * Performs software acquisition functions, requirements management, and the understanding of software workflow * Must be able to perform software requirements broken down into systems requirements Required Skills & Experience * Clearance Required: Secret * US Citizenship is required for work on DoD contract * Must have a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university * At least three (3) years of recent and relevant experience * Demonstrated experience and expertise in an area of engineering is required Application Deadline: 12/1 /2025 cjpost LI-ONSITE The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
