Electrical Design Engineer 8.00am - 5.00pm (40 Hours) Department Products & Design My Client is looking for a a candidate who is passionate about designing innovative electrical solutions and ensuring the highest levels of technical excellence? They are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join theirgrowing team and help themdeliver industry-leading power solutions to theircustomers. The Role: They are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join theirteam and design electrical systems for generators and associated equipment. In this role, you will take projects from concept through detailed design, creating solutions tailored to the clients needs and compliant with all relevant technical standards. This is a hands-on design position where your expertise with AutoCAD and knowledge of UK electrical regulations will be critical. Youll collaborate closely with project manager, sales team, and field engineers to ensure our solutions are safe, robust, and meet all the relevant standards. What Youll Be Doing: Design and develop electrical systems for generator backup power installations, including specifying LV switchgear, control panels, generator controllers, and integration with UPS/uninterruptible power supply systems. Ensure each design is tailored to client requirements and site conditions, providing reliable power in emergencies. Provide design and engineering support for both low (LV) and high (HV) voltage applications Responsible for the design and drawing up of electrical schematics, including CDM and BS7671 regulation. Preparing technical quotations, risk assessments, and method statements. Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning. Troubleshooting and providing technical support for electrical systems. Collaborating with Project Managers, Sales, and Technical Teams to ensure projects are completed on time. Documenting designs and maintaining compliance with industry and company standards. About You: They are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with strong technical skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Youll need: ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design. Strong knowledge of electrical design, switchgear, control panels, and estimating. An understanding of industry regulations and safety standards. A commitment to high-quality work and continuous improvement.
