About the Role We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Van Driver and Loader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting waste timber from building sites and other locations and taking it either to our own facilities or to those of a recycler. The Driver and Loader will normally work alone and will be required to load approximately a tonne of timber three, or possibly four, times a day. Salary and Benefits 40 hours per week at £14 per hour with additional £1 per hour for full compliance with code of conduct Overtime at £17 per hour with additional £1 per hour for full compliance with code of conduct 25 days per year holiday Friendly and supportive team environment Main Responsibilities Drive a company van to collect timber and deliver it to its destination. Liaise with customer representatives and act as an ambassador for the charity Load and unload timber safely, complying with all company and customer safety rules. Use power tools provided to cut timber, where necessary to fit on van Follow scheduled routes and ensure timely deliveries Accurately complete electronic or paper waste transfer notes Perform basic vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues Provide excellent service to Customers Requirements Full, clean UK driving license Previous experience in driving vans and manual handling preferred Good level of physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
