American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/15/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit position at a community hospital, requiring a compact or MO RN license and recent specialty experience. Responsibilities Work in a community hospital setting on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Patient ratio is 1:5 Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 18:45 - 07:15 Required to work 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Holiday and charge RN assignments as needed Care for a variety of patient populations including cardiac, neuro, oncology, and stepdown Specialized procedures include post cardiac angiogram care, cardiac cath, post MI, dysrhythmia management, rapid response, feeding tube care, post hemodialysis, chest tube management, and wound vac Use of telemetry and cardiovascular monitoring equipment EMR system: EPIC Primary responsibilities include providing intermediate level care to a diverse patient population requiring frequent monitoring and rapid intervention Expected to float between similar units and potentially cross facilities as needed Professional attire includes navy scrubs Free staff parking is available First-time travelers accepted Maximum of 7 days of requested time off will be considered Pre-start and orientation modules are required, including specific EPIC and infusion pump training Drug screen must return clear results for assignment eligibility Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment References must reflect experience from the past year Requirements Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, stepdown, or telemetry RN experience with at least 1 year within the past 12 months and no gap greater than 90 days Community hospital experience required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; CPI preferred Strong skills in interpretation and management of cardiac arrhythmias, management of central lines and drips (not requiring titration), and experience with rapid response teams Experience with a variety of acute patient conditions including AMI, heart failure, chest pain, vascular/PVD, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, ETOH withdrawal, CVA, and post-cath patients EMR experience with EPIC is required Must provide 2 professional references from the past year, one from a supervisor or higher Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility No pending licenses accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-636678.
