Midwest Family Mutual Insurance Company has a part-time position available for a Cycle Operator who is responsible for monitoring and responding to daily and monthend cycle processing activity, performing pre-cycle checks/tasks as well as post-cycle checks/tasks.
The Cycle Operator’s role is to perform and record various checklist items pre-cycle processing, during cycle processing and after cycle processing to ensure that all automated tasks occurred as expected and were completed and logged appropriately. This role includes issue identification and communication with designated IT staff if any issue should take place as well as working with that staff member to resolve and resume the cycle processing steps. Additionally, communication post-cycle with designated IT staff is required to confirm completion of activities and report on anything that occurred during the cycle process that is out of the ordinary with any steps taken to resolve.
This individual will apply communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve cycle processing issues, suggest new features/efficiencies as well as interact with key IT staff in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
The work hours are evenings between 9:30 PM to 10:45* PM Central (Sunday through Thursday daily including holidays) and 6:30 PM to 10:45* PM Central (on the last day of the month, regardless of day of the week/holiday). *The end time will vary based upon the cycle activity occurring on a particular day but is typically less than 2 hours each daily cycle and 4 hours each month end cycle (averaging 6 to 9 hours per week).
Cycle Process Monitoring:
- Perform pre-cycle checks and document results
- Communicate and work with designated IT staff in a timely manner should any of the pre-cycle checks do not result in ‘systems go’
- Monitor cycle processing activity to ensure all processes occur when/how they are designed to
- Communicate and work with designated IT staff in a timely manner should any cycle processing activity occur in error or as expected
- Perform post-cycle checks and document results
- Communicate with designated IT staff the results of the daily cycle activity advising of anything that occurred that is out of the ordinary
Education & Certification
- College degree, AAS degree or Programming Certification – completed or in progress
- 1-3 years equivalent work experience
Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience in a similar work environment
- Understanding of Windows desktop operating systems
- Hands-on software troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge/practical training of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
