The Legal Services Department is now looking to expand to support the implementation of the Police Scotland Estates Masterplan and are recruiting for an experienced Senior Solicitor - Construction Contracts Procurement to join their team . Key responsibilities of the Senior Solicitor - Construction Contracts Procurement include: To assist the Chief Legal Officer in the effective delivery of professional legal advice and guidance to the Chief Constable, Senior Management and other members of Police Scotland and in the execution of legal work with a focus on construction law. The post holder will be engaged in the matter of construction contracts and also term service contracts including the provision of advice thereon generally, supporting in the preparation of terms for tendering for Works and term services contracts, advising on legal issues arising during the contract term and in the provision of general legal procurement advice as required. Essential skills and experience required: Current unrestricted Practicing Certificate from the Law Society of Scotland. Educated to LLB Degree (Bachelor of Laws) or equivalent. (Desirable DPLP (Diploma ln Legal Practice) preferably with Public Administration. Personal Qualities Essential: Effective negotiation and legal drafting skills. Proven achievements in specific areas of Contracts/Commercial legal work, demonstrating relevant experience of Contracts/Commercial legal work of a complex or important nature. Why join us?
