Director, Corporate Development - Head of Market Intelligence

Overview Scopely is seeking a Director, Corporate Development to lead the market intelligence and top-of-funnel sourcing function within our Corporate Development team. We are a global team of game lovers who develop, publish and innovate in the mobile games industry. The Corporate Development team identifies, evaluates & executes M&A, investments and strategic partnerships to drive Scopely’s inorganic growth strategy. This is a high-impact, strategic role that shapes how we monitor and uncover new opportunities across the gaming ecosystem. What you will do You will be responsible for building, owning, and evolving our market intelligence capabilities including systems, processes, tools and team leadership. This is not a transactional or deal execution role; it is a strategic, top-of-funnel function focused on discovering and surfacing high-potential opportunities to feed our corporate development pipeline. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the gaming landscape, strong intellectual curiosity, the ability to build scalable tools and systems from the ground up, and a relentless drive to uncover leading companies, products and teams in the gaming space. You will combine data-driven tools with market insights to drive the front end of our corporate development funnel. This role reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Development and will work closely with Scopely’s AI team to build, maintain, and continuously improve our market intelligence tools. Build and manage the systems, processes, tools, and teams that power the market intelligence function of the Corporate Development team. Own the top-of-funnel for Corporate Development and ensure that high-quality opportunities are consistently identified and surfaced. Lead the development of industry-leading market intelligence tools and systems that leverage multiple data providers and platforms, working with a team of analysts and engineers. Proactively monitor industry trends, market developments, competitive activity and emerging opportunities and provide regular updates to key stakeholders including Scopely’s executive team and Slate Development Group. Develop a robust opportunity sourcing pipeline and process that incorporates data analysis, strategic considerations, and industry insight, and present new opportunities to the Corporate Development team on a regular basis. Maintain organized tracking of our sourcing activities and the corporate development pipeline. Build a deep understanding of Scopely’s corporate development strategy to effectively identify opportunities that align with our goals. Continuously evolve the strategies, tools, and workflows that power corporate development market intelligence. What you will need At least 7 years of experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, strategy consulting, data analytics or related roles. Proven ability to build, design and implement new tools, processes and systems, and to lead teams to execute against them. Strong analytical skills and experience working with data platforms and analytics tools to extract key insights. Familiarity with AI tools and an understanding of how to effectively use them to enhance market intelligence processes and automate workflows. Highly autonomous, resourceful, and intellectually curious with the drive to continuously uncover new corporate development opportunities for Scopely. Strong presentation and communication skills; comfortable engaging with cross-functional stakeholders and senior management. Experience in sourcing and evaluating corporate development opportunities is a plus. Passion for gaming and/or experience in the video game industry is preferred. Undergraduate degree from a leading academic institution with strong academic performance.
