Our client located in Garsfontein, Pretoria is looking for a dynamic BDM to join their team! About them: They are a leading, independent international automotive distributor and mobility company with over 70 years of heritage. The company provides end-to-end automotive solutions, including distribution, retail, service, logistics, and pre-owned salesacross markets in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, Asia, and Africa. They partner with top global OEM brands, such as Toyota, Lexus, BYD, MG, and Changan, offering a full ownership experience from financing to servicing. About the role: The Business Development Manager (BDM) serves as the key liaison between the wholesaler/distributor and the dealer network, ensuring seamless communication, sales alignment, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for optimising dealer performance, ensuring sales growth, customer satisfaction, and full compliance with brand standards. The BDM plays a pivotal role in achieving sales objectives by overseeing stock availability, training programs, and strategic market initiatives to enhance both short-term revenue generation and long-term sustainability. Key Responsibilities: Dealer Relationship Management: Act as the primary contact between the distributor and dealers, ensuring clear communication and business alignment. Sales Growth & Market Penetration: Support dealers in achieving sales targets, expanding market presence, and reinforcing brand representation. Dealer Business Development: Provide strategic guidance to ensure dealerships are financially viable, well-stocked, and equipped to succeed. Customer Satisfaction & Aftersales Optimisation: Ensure high-quality service and aftersales support by collaborating with dealers. Training & Development: Implement structured training programs for dealer staff, covering sales techniques, product knowledge, and brand standards. Stock & Inventory Management: Work closely with dealers to ensure optimal stock levels, aligned with market demand and forecasts. Competitor & Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor movements, and customer insights to refine strategies. Dealer Standards & Compliance: Conduct regular audits, ensuring dealerships conform to OEM requirements, contractual obligations, and brand identity. Reporting & Business Insights: Provide detailed reports on dealer performance, competitor activity, and market trends to support strategic decision-making. Strategic Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operational teams to streamline business execution and ensure dealership success. Minimum Requirements: Matric Valid drivers licence Bachelors degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, or related field. Experience in dealer sales, business development, and operational oversight. (advantage) Strong relationship-management skills with expertise in dealer interactions and business negotiations. Analytical mindset with deep knowledge of sales forecasting, stock planning, and retail profitability. Excellent communication and training abilities, capable of guiding dealerships toward operational success. Knowledge of OEM dealer operations, aftersales processes, and brand compliance Remuneration: Negotiable depending on experience MA Pension
