Responsibilities Work in a busy Pediatric Emergency Department at a Level I trauma center Patients range in age up to 25 years High patient volume with strong winter seasonal surges Variable shift start times, including day and night 12-hour shifts 3 designated triage areas and a dedicated fast-track area ED techs support nurses, generally one tech per nurse, plus additional techs in triage No on-call or floating required Staff run their own codes internally Travelers provide supplemental coverage for high seasonal demand First-time travelers are welcome to apply No RTO preferred; a maximum of 7 days off is allowed, with no holidays off during assignment Must not have worked at CHOC or Rady Children’s within the past year Candidates living within 50 miles are considered locals and are not eligible Up to 8 hours of required modules to be completed during orientation Requirements Active CA RN license required and must be in hand prior to submission Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required; Pediatric ED experience preferred Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, MAB, PALS Two recent supervisory references from the Emergency Department setting within the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-632910.
