The data platform team at Compass is responsible for building and operating a unified, secure and scalable data platform, making high-quality data available for business intelligence, financial reporting, and data science use cases. As an engineer of the Data Platform team, you will play a crucial role in building and operating the data infrastructure that serves the entire company to make data-driven decisions. What you will do: Data infrastructure automation : Automate the build, deploy, and automate a scalable cloud data platform through standardization of process and Infrastructure as Code. Data platform operational support : Support the platform users for troubleshooting, configuration, version updates, and feature adoptions. Automate and simplify manual infrastructure processes. Security and Compliance : Identify infrastructure security-relevant actions, tests, and key performance indicators. Enhances the security posture of the Compass data platform, ensuring the protection of data, systems, and assets. Perform data platform compliance tasks and automate the compliance processes. Cost management and best practices: Monitor the platform health, reliability, cost, and usage. Champion the best practices and guardrails for using the data platform. Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize the data platform for all stakeholders. What we are looking for: B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science, information science or equivalent Fluent English skills is a must for the role 5 years of developing experience with Infrastructure As Code technology, such as AWS Cloud Formation and Terraform . Infrastructure configuration automation experience 5 years of experience on setting up, managing and automating the cloud big data platforms, such as AWS , Airflow, Databricks , Spark, etc. 5 years experience with infrastructure security review and risk remediation and compliance. 8 years of Solid programming skills in Python. Hands-on experience with SQL . Effective collaboration with engineers and stakeholders across the organization.
