Surgical Pathologist Bronx, NY Job Description The Department of Pathology is seeking a Surgical Pathologist for the Division of Anatomic Pathology. The Division of Anatomic Pathology is CAP-accredited, includes 4 pathologists and has a surgical pathology volume of 13,000 cases/year. The successful candidate must have strong surgical pathology skills, be Board eligible/certified in anatomic pathology and hold a New York State license at the time of proposed employment. Additional fellowship training and experience in cytopathology is desirable. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Diagnostic evaluation of surgical pathology specimens, autopsies, FNA, frozen sections, conferences/tumor board. Review and sign out surgical pathology biopsies, excision, and resection cases. Review (may include screening) and sign out cytopathology cases. Prioritize malignant cases and submit all first-time malignant cases for daily intradepartmental consensus conference for peer review and concordance. Complete cases in the required turnaround time (TAT) Participate in internal/external quality assurance, performance improvement activities and programs, and departmental meetings, and facility-wide training as needed. Involve in processing or provide guidance of surgical pathology service management and quality improvement. Participate in other clinical activities as requested by service Chair and/or Pathology Director. Qualifications Board certified by American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or AP/CP pathology NYS Physician License Certificate of Qualification (COQ) to include Anatomic Pathology related categories (preferred)
