Job Description

Senior Job Captain (Architects Orange, LLP d/b/a AO, Orange, CA): Provide architectural services to our clients under the supervision of a licensed architect, in accordance with California licensure requirements. Develop technical project drawings, tabulations, and related services, as well as coordinate with consultants to develop construction documents. Work on commercial projects throughout the project lifecycle, from design development to construction documentation and openings. During the construction document preparation processes, coordinate the work of other consultants as required to prepare accurate and complete drawings, documents, and specifications that allow the project to obtain building permits from the required administrative agencies. Prepare technical drawings of site plans, overall floor plans, façade plans, segment plans, roof plans and details, ceiling plans, elevations, sections, door and window schedules, and other miscellaneous details, as well as full drawing suites for submission to the city for approval of designs and construction. Perform building code analyses, prepare code analysis summaries, and modify designs to ensure code compliance. Prepare life safety drawings including those for exit signs on plans and paths of travel. Prepare consultative reports and maintaining records of ongoing projects. Present, discuss, and receive technical input and direction from Senior PM, PM, and other senior staff on assigned projects and tasks. Requires a Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture, Architectural Design, or related field, and two years of experience in Architecture, or related experience. Experience, including six months of experience: managing projects from initial planning to post-occupancy evaluation; performing project coordination from site verifications to producing detail drawings; obtaining accurate site measurements, drafting full construction architectural drawings, and developing 2D and 3D renderings; reviewing and coordinating architectural design and construction documents; managing project budget and schedules; developing business proposals; ensuring buildings meet applicable safety, environmental, and other regulatory specifications; researching and interpreting applicable codes to confirm project compliance; preparing plan check sets and respond to plan check corrections; and addressing any issues that arise to ensure compliance and quality.
