For more information, visit . About the role The Functional SME, Engine Maintenance will perform as the Subject Matter Expert for the reliability maintenance toolset within the CEMS program. Provide senior functional leadership for the team, manage and support modeling efforts, provide technical guidance for the design, development, testing, validation and optimization of toolset implementation. Implement capability for additional USAF engines and provide flying hours and cost optimization for maintenance decisions, predictive analytics using AI/ML and/or other tools and technologies to build decision and optimization models. What you'll do Provide senior functional leadership for AF engine maintenance systems reliability model development and operations experience including data and functional understanding for engine parts and assembly, maintenance functions, costs, and optimal decision making. This role requires knowledge and understanding of Air Force maintenance for different engine types, propulsion needs, and quality assurance practices from a functional, data, deployment, and operational perspective. Need deep expertise in engine maintenance requirements, parts and spares, supply chain management, and quality assessment. Participate in meetings to continually improve engine maintenance methods, quality and cost efficiency from a data perspective to build reliability models. Ability to assess the existing engine reliability models and their data, impact to Type, Model, Series, Modification managers, identify deviations from real world data, and generate recommendations for model design and operational updates. Develop reports as needed working with technical team to present to customers demonstrating deep understanding of engine maintenance requirements, decision making, supply chain management, engine data and how to explain how model was built and need to be operated. Responsibilities include: * Lead functional design, development of Air Force systems engine maintenance analytics to include work scope optimization, deployment readiness, triage optimization, reliability and readiness monitoring * Develop insights from available USAF data that can be used by engine maintainers to make data driven decisions * Collaborate across functional maintenance user teams, gain trust as SME; Develop outlines and communicate complex engine maintenance concepts between the end users and the development team to successfully transform concepts to outcomes through building of quality models to address USAF needs * Drive functional innovation for reliable engine maintenance, evaluate emerging technologies, and champion the adoption of modern solutions with focus on operational refinement, flexible modeling framework to expand to new engines and building models for multiple engines * Create case studies to develop user stories to document requirements and real-world scenarios based on operational analysis of engine, their components and parts reliability and cost features, supply chain and deployment constraints. * Develop Engineering Report describing new functionality, algorithms, and other technical descriptions for each new and updated capability and how they assist USAF maintenance decision making * Support User Acceptance Testing as the Functional SME Qualifications * US Citizen with ability to obtain and/or maintain a government clearance. * 10 years of experience with USAF aircraft and engine maintenance, specific knowledge of engine parts, assembly, and their reliability including deep understanding of maintenance data and operations * Know the differences between maintenance requirements for multiple different USAF engines, costs, supply chain and constraints * Experience with maintenance Technical Orders, work scope optimization, Deployment Readiness * Expertise with AF logistics, maintenance supply chain, and MRO * Excellent presentation and communication skills * J85 Engine maintenance knowledge a plus * Additional Engine knowledge and maintenance experience a plus Preferred * Experience with multiple Engine Deployment readiness, Supply chain management, and hands-on experience with Engine Maintenance data and Logistics * Knowledge of supply chain process for propulsion systems * On site at Tinker AFB or ability to travel.
