About the Role: We are seeking a Senior AI/ML Specialist with a strong background in Mining Process Engineering to lead the development of intelligent solutions that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making. As the first AI/ML hire on the team , this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the data strategy and build foundational models that support business and engineering stakeholders on-site. Key Responsibilities: Apply AI and Machine Learning techniques to mining process data to uncover insights, optimize operations, and support strategic decisions. Work closely with on-site stakeholders to understand business processes and translate operational challenges into data-driven solutions. Develop and deploy hands-on models and algorithms tailored to mining workflows, asset performance, and production optimization. Collaborate with engineering and business teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with operational goals. Serve as the technical lead for AI/ML initiatives, laying the groundwork for future team expansion and capability development. Required Experience & Skills: Proven experience in AI/ML , with a strong focus on industrial or engineering applications. Mining Process Engineering background is a must. Deep understanding of business processes within mining or oil & gas operations. Strong hands-on skills in data modeling, algorithm development , and working with real-world operational datasets. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially in on-site environments. Ability to work independently and take ownership as the first AI/ML expert on the team.
