Job Description

Title: Safety Manager Location: Washington, DC Pay Rate: $55-$70/hour Duration: 12 months Start date: ASAP Safety Manager – Substation Construction FootBridge is seeking an experienced Field Safety Manager to support a substation construction project in the Washington, DC area for a leading engineering and energy client. This role will be responsible for day-to-day safety oversight in the field, ensuring all site personnel and subcontractors comply with company and regulatory safety standards. Responsibilities: Lead and enforce safety protocols during all phases of substation construction. Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings, toolbox talks, and field audits. Identify and mitigate potential hazards through proactive monitoring. Maintain safety documentation, incident reports, and corrective action logs. Collaborate with project management and field supervisors to promote a strong safety culture. Ensure compliance with OSHA, client, and company safety requirements. Qualifications: 5 years of field construction safety experience (utility or substation preferred). OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required; CHST or CSP a plus. Proven ability to lead safety programs on active construction sites. Strong communication and leadership skills; capable of engaging field crews effectively.
