Job Description

Head of Trading & Operations (GoalVest Advisory LLC, New York, NY): Oversee all trade execution across equity, fixed income, and alternative investments, ensuring seamless execution, accuracy, and alignment with client objectives; Monitor investment policy mandates, ensuring that client portfolios align with financial goals, risk tolerance, cash flow needs, and tax considerations; Conduct market and risk analysis by tracking economic trends and market conditions to support trading decisions and asset allocation; Partner with portfolio managers and research teams to refine investment strategies, optimize asset allocation, and enhance risk-adjusted returns; Cultivate and expand client relationships, ensuring that operational efficiencies and investment strategies translate into superior client experiences and retention; Spearhead technology and automation initiatives, integrating cutting-edge trading platforms, CRM systems, and data analytics to enhance execution quality and operational efficiency; Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve client experience, streamline workflows, and maintain a competitive edge in the evolving RIA landscape; Initiate digital transformation efforts, ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of industry advancements in financial technology and client service; Develop and implement Python-based tools for trade automation, data analysis, and risk management to improve accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making; Lead the structured note project to optimize financial workflows, drive successful third-party software integrations, enhance trading and execution strategies, ensure distribution readiness, and implement go-to-market strategies, all while managing team collaboration, meeting deadlines, and achieving platform onboarding to improve efficiency and reduce costs; Assist in risk management and compliance initiatives, ensuring all trading and operational activities adhere to SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory requirements; Enforce firm policies and procedures, streamlining operations to improve scalability, mitigate risks, and enhance efficiency; Coordinate with custodians, counterparties, and technology providers, ensuring seamless operations and strong vendor relationships; Act as a primary liaison for external relationships, engaging with regulators, auditors, institutional partners, and financial advisors to reinforce the firm’s reputation and commitment to fiduciary responsibility; Work closely with the CEO to shape the firm’s strategic vision, identifying growth opportunities, operational improvements, and market positioning strategies; Drive business development initiatives, exploring opportunities for expansion, new product offerings, and partnerships to enhance the firm’s competitive position; and Ensure alignment of operational and investment strategies, positioning the firm for long-term scalability, regulatory resilience, and client success. Must have experience with the following skills in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: Experience with portfolio analytic tools such as Kwanti, Ycharts; Experience with portfolio rebalancing tools such as Black Diamond; Experience working with Structured Note Tech providers such as Halo; Experience with Python and programming; Experience with real-time risk monitoring, regulatory compliance and counterparty risk; Experience with trading processes across asset classes, including equities, fixed income, structured products, private equity and private credit; Experience analyzing and monitoring market trends and assessing trading risks; Experience managing relationships with advisors, brokers, custodians & regulators; Experience with operational workflows, trade settlements, and reconciliation processes; Experience with compliance best practices for a registered investment advisor (RIA); Experience in leading teams, defining trading strategy, and scaling operations; and Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering or a related field, and at least three years of experience as a Trading & Operations Analyst or a related occupation.
