Job Description Job Description We are seeking an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Mechanic with 5–7 years of proven experience in the service, diagnosis, and repair of both HVAC and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of commercial refrigeration systems , including lowboys, walk-in boxes, and ice machines , as well as HVAC systems such as mini splits, rooftop package units, VRV/VRF systems, and split systems . Requirements: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in HVAC and commercial refrigeration service. Strong diagnostic and repair skills for both HVAC and refrigeration systems. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must be able to pass a background check with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) . EPA Universal Certification is required. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently. Spanish language proficiency is a big plus. Responsibilities: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and residential HVAC and refrigeration systems. Service and maintain walk-in coolers/freezers, lowboys, and ice machines . Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections. Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings to supervisors or clients. Preferred Skills: Experience with high-efficiency systems such as VRV/VRF, Mitsubishi, and TOSOT . Familiarity with energy-efficiency programs such as Con Edison Clean Heat. Ability to work in commercial, institutional, and municipal environments.
