Responsibilities Position is in a combined Emergency Department and MedSurg unit with 12 MedSurg beds Serves patients with a variety of diagnoses including stroke, MI, trauma, and provides outpatient infusions Typical patient ratio for MedSurg is 1:4-6 Uses Epic and Space Lab charting systems Shift is 12-hour days, 36 hours per week No set weekend schedule; self-scheduling with rotating weekends No on-call responsibilities Floating required within scope of practice First-day orientation includes manager time, Epic/Ilearn training, and one shift with preceptor Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including techs, RT, imaging, and charge nurse support Charge nurse serves as a 24/7 resource for all units including outpatient Phlebotomy support available on campus during business hours and on-call after hours Scrub requirement: navy blue for RNs Holiday shifts assigned as needed Free parking is available on site Condition snow policy may require staff to arrive early or stay during weather events Candidate suitability as a first-time traveler depends on interview and fit Requirements Active RN license from South Dakota or compact state required Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required; CPI preferred Completion of an approved nursing education program At least 1 year of experience in acute inpatient care (ER and/or MedSurg) Experience with a team nursing approach Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility for eligibility Permanent staff may not return as travelers until 1 year has passed Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630886.
