Job Description & Requirements Specialty: MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/24/2025 Duration: 26 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights Employment Type: Travel Facility Policies Radius Rule: 50 miles (travelers must live >50 miles from facility) Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years ICU experience required Prefer experience in similar or larger ICU/hospital setting Must be comfortable titrating drips Required Certifications ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Shift Notes 7p-7a, every other weekend, Will float to other ICUs in the Valley- Meridian Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center Unit Overview: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Boise Hospital, Floor 3 Department: Critical Care | RN Charting System: Epic Systems Corporation – EpicCare Inpatient (EMR) Unit Composition Units: SICU (includes neuro ICU patients) – 16 beds MICU – 16 beds Units are separate but staffed as a combined unit. Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2 Support Staff: CNAs: 2 per unit (Days) | 1–1.5 per unit (Nights) Charge nurse and resource nurse available each shift (Charge RN typically non-assigned) Certifications Required BLS ACLS NIHSS Patient Population / Common Diagnoses CABG, CVA, Subarachnoid Hemorrhage, Intracerebral Hemorrhage GI Bleeds, DKA, STEMI, Septic Shock, Overdose, Respiratory Failure Neuro Surgery, Open Hearts (Travelers not required to have experience in open-heart or specialty devices) No trauma, burn, or transplant patients Common Titrated or Set-Rate Drips: Dopamine, Epinephrine, Norepinephrine, Cardene, Nitro, Neo, Vasopressin, Diltiazem, Insulin, Esmolol Ancillary & Clinical Support Intensivist and Hospitalist: In-house 24/7 RT Coverage: 24/7 with at least 2 RTs per ICU Equipment: Vents, BiPAP, CPAP Monitoring: RNs monitor and interpret own cardiac strips System: Spacelabs No dedicated telemetry/monitor techs Scheduling & Logistics Shifts: 12 hours (07:00–19:30 / 19:00–07:30) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or half of the weekends Holidays: As needed; efforts made to accommodate requests Call/Standby: None Floating: To other ICUs within the system (Meridian and Nampa Medical Centers) May float outside ICU for 1:1 sitter assignments Scrubs/Dress Code: No color requirement Orientation: 1–2 shifts About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
