Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 12/15/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Tech - General with at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification for night shifts in a full-service hospital ultrasound department. Responsibilities Work in a 139-bed community hospital with a comprehensive ultrasound department Department has 2 procedure rooms and conducts approximately 40 procedures daily Performs studies on inpatient, outpatient, ER, and neonatal/NICU patient populations Cases include general, abdomen, OB/GYN, high risk obstetrics, small parts, vascular (carotid, arterial, venous, peripheral), renal/pelvis, M-Mode, and pediatric intussusception and appendix Equipment includes PACS, portables, Samsung, Trophon, GE, Epic, and McKesson Three 12-hour night shifts: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 18:00 to 06:30 No call and no floating required Performs a variety of general and specialty ultrasound procedures including high risk and vascular studies Royal blue scrubs are required and not provided Orientation is one week, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM First-time travelers are accepted No RTO is allowed after booking or during the first week, and additional time off may result in contract cancellation Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment Transport services are available 24/7 Modules and online learning are completed pre-start and annually Local candidates may be offered a different rate if residing within 50 miles of the facility Travel pairs are permitted but must work on different units Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent ultrasound tech experience required BLS certification required Experience with neonate/NICU ultrasound required Proficiency in outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and community hospital settings required Experience with Epic and McKesson EMR charting systems preferred Skills in pediatric intussusception and appendix ultrasound required NC or Compact license required if applicable and must be active at start Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-632097.
