Franschhoek | Hospitality | Permanent Position Red Ember Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is seeking a professional, energetic, and service-driven Waiter to join a luxury hospitality establishment in Franschhoek. This position requires someone who can deliver an exceptional dining experience in line with fine dining standards, ensuring that guests receive warm, professional, and efficient service while maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage presentation. Main Responsibilities Greet all guests warmly and professionally in accordance with service standards. Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times. Understand the full sequence of service and anticipate guest needs. Be fully aware of table allocations, dietary requirements, allergies, and special requests by reviewing the daily service sheet. Communicate any food requirements or allergies to the kitchen accurately and promptly. Have comprehensive knowledge of the menu and wine list to confidently assist guests. Assist guests with non-menu requests in a professional and accommodating manner. Proactively recommend dishes, wines, and specials to enhance the guest experience and drive sales. Handle guest complaints and comments with professionalism, escalating when necessary. Stay informed on daily operations, special events, and functions to ensure preparedness for each shift. Ensure all tables are cleared, cleaned, and reset according to service standards. Perform cleaning duties as required, including polishing cutlery and glassware, cleaning service areas, and maintaining tidiness throughout shifts. Assist with monthly stock takes and restocking of fridges and bar areas following FIFO procedures (First In, First Out). Support the setup of picnics, braais, conferences, and other special events. Accurately process all transactions through the POS system. Experience and Skills Minimum 2 years’ waitering experience in a fine dining environment (hotel restaurant experience advantageous). Sound knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverages. Proficiency in POS systems (Easipos advantageous). Inherent Requirements Matric Certificate (essential). Wine certificate course (beneficial). Strong ability to upsell and engage with guests confidently. Excellent time management and attention to detail. Problem-solving and customer service skills. Ability to work well under pressure.
