Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer Location: Worthing, West Sussex Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time An established precision engineering manufacturer in Worthing is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen product and process quality. This is a hands-on position working with production, suppliers, and customers to drive measurable improvement across quality metrics. Key Responsibilities: Lead CAPA investigations – root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions Conduct internal audits and support external / customer audits Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Analyse SPC and capability data (Cp, Cpk) to monitor performance Manage non-conformances, customer complaints, and supplier returns (8D reporting) Update and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and process documentation Liaise with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve delivery performance Prepare and present quality data, metrics, and reports to management Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and inspection Ideal Background: Previous experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing or precision engineering Knowledge of ISO 9001 and formal audit procedures Skilled in CAPA, SPC, 8D, and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone) Strong communicator who can influence at all levels of the business Proficient in Excel / Minitab or similar for quality data analysis HNC / Degree in Engineering or related discipline desirable Six Sigma Green Belt or Lead Auditor training advantageous What’s Offered: Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience) Long-term stability within a well-run, growing business The Quality Engineer role offers variety, autonomy, and a visible impact on company performance.
