We have a vacancy for a Bookkeeper in Heidelberg: ? Bookkeeper (Mid-Level) – Heidelberg, Gauteng Location: Heidelberg, Gauteng Industry: Finance / Accounting Type: Permanent | Full-time Start Date: Immediate Salary: R20,000 – R25,000/month (based on experience) Benefits: Pension Fund & Medical Aid Transport: Own reliable transport required Residency: Preferably reside in or near Heidelberg Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Heidelberg. The ideal candidate will be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans, with strong accounting skills and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. This is a mid-level role suited to someone who can work independently and manage day-to-day financial tasks with precision. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers Process accounts payable and receivable Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting Handle VAT submissions and statutory compliance Support payroll processing and related reconciliations Liaise with external auditors and financial institutions as needed Ensure data integrity and confidentiality across all financial systems Minimum Requirements Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, Xero) and Excel Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Own reliable transport to and from work Preferably reside in or near Heidelberg, Gauteng
