Minimum requirements Matric RE5 qualification (must have) Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role Minimum of 3 years' experience in short or long-term insurance High ethical standards Strong work ethic and reliability Fluent in Afrikaans and English Reliable transport Skills required Analytical skills Excellent attention to detail Integrity Decision making skills Communication and time management skills Numerical and financial literacy skills Interpersonal skills Duties and responsibilities Evaluate insurance applications and supporting documentation to determine risk exposure Review property, financial, and client information to assess eligibility and coverage requirements Analyse statistical data, reports, and claims history to support sound underwriting decisions Prepare, review, and approve insurance quotes, policies, and endorsements in line with company guidelines Ensure underwriting practices comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards Negotiate policy terms, conditions, and premiums with brokers, agents, and clients Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions, risk assessments, and correspondence Collaborate with sales, claims, and risk management teams to support business objectives Monitor existing policies for renewals, changes, or cancellations, ensuring accuracy and profitability Provide excellent service and clear communication to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders Work hours Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:45 Friday: 08:00 - 16:15 Remuneration R 13 000 basic Pension fund contribution (after 3 month probation period) IMPORTANT: Applications close 07 November 2025 Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be considered Only candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted No social media messages / comments will be responded to
