CAD Technician / Estimator

Our client has an opportunity open for a technically minded and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a CAD Technician / Estimator . The ideal candidate will have experience working with CAD software, strong mathematical ability, and an understanding of costing and estimating, preferably within the steel industry. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and analytical aspects of project work, translating designs into accurate drawings and estimates. Key Responsibilities: Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software for structural steel projects. Interpret and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Prepare take-offs and quantify materials required for fabrication and erection. Assist with cost estimation. Support the tendering and quotation process with detailed cost breakdowns. Maintain drawing and document control standards. Requirements: Matric with strong Mathematics results. Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar). Sound understanding of costing, estimating, and material calculations. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Key Competencies: Analytical and problem-solving mindset. Numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Technical drawing and design proficiency. Understanding of fabrication and steel construction principles. Initiative and willingness to learn.
