Key Job Details – Wisconsin Nursing Jobs Job Title: Travel ICU Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU Assignment Type: Travel Nurse, 13-week contract Location: Wausau, Wisconsin 54401 Unit: Neuro ICU (8-bed unit) Start Date: October 13, 2025 End Date: January 10, 2026 Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed, except holidays and orientation week) Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday Float Requirements: May float between Neuro Critical Care ICU, MSICU, and other critical care/inpatient units Scrub Colors: Any color Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,100 - $2,250 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Wisconsin RN License (required for Wisconsin nursing jobs) BLS and ACLS certifications (required) NIHSS certification (preferred) Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (required) Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU) At least 1 prior travel nurse assignment (preferred) Strong neuro assessment and clinical skills Experience with EPIC charting system (required) Familiarity with EVDs, ICP monitoring, and neuro-specific procedures (a plus) Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and manage tasks efficiently ICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to Neuro ICU patients, including those with stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), head injuries, and post-neurosurgery Perform comprehensive neuro assessments and bedside ICU procedures (e.g., line placement, intubation) Assist with neuro-specific procedures such as bolt and drain placements with neurosurgery Float between Neuro ICU, Medical/Surgical ICU, and other critical care/inpatient units as needed Collaborate with neurosurgery and interventional healthcare teams Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records Participate in every other weekend and holiday rotation Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment Apply now to join our Neuro ICU healthcare team in Wausau, Wisconsin, and experience a fulfilling travel nursing job in a supportive and scenic Midwest community!
