Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (AX) Technical Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) / AX Technical Consultant to join our Microsoft practice in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, customization, integration, and technical delivery of D365 F&O solutions, ensuring alignment with client business requirements and best practices. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement custom solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O / AX using X , C# , and related technologies. Develop and maintain integrations between D365 F&O and external systems (using APIs, Power Platform, Azure Services, Data Entities, etc.). Configure and extend standard D365 F&O features to meet specific client requirements. Participate in full lifecycle implementations — including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues. Collaborate with functional consultants and business users to translate functional requirements into technical specifications. Create and maintain technical documentation, design documents, and code repositories. Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior team members. Work closely with Microsoft Azure DevOps for build automation, version control, and deployment pipelines. Required Skills & Qualifications 5 years of experience as a Technical Consultant / Developer in Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O (or Dynamics AX 2012). Strong command of X , C# , SQL Server , and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services). Experience with Data Entities , OData , Power Platform , Logic Apps , and Azure Functions . Proven experience with customizations, extensions, integrations , and workflow design in D365 F&O. Familiarity with Finance and Supply Chain modules (GL, AP, AR, Inventory, Procurement, etc.). Understanding of Azure DevOps (builds, version control, deployment pipelines). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate (preferred). Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with LCS (Lifecycle Services) and environment management. Knowledge of Data Management Framework (DMF) . Familiarity with Power BI or embedded analytics. Prior experience in an implementation partner / consulting firm environment.
