ETL Developer (Azure - ADF)

Position: Intermediate ETL Developer (Azure - ADF) Location: Markham, Ontario (Hybrid – 4 days/week in office) Contract Duration: 6 Months (Start Date: November 2025) Job Description Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate ETL Developer to join their data engineering team on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for professionals with 3–5 years of experience in ETL development who are looking to contribute to enterprise-level data integration and transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will work on designing and optimizing ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Microsoft SQL Server , ensuring high-quality data delivery across systems. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS . Write and optimize T-SQL queries , stored procedures, and scripts for data extraction and transformation. Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across various platforms. Monitor ETL jobs and troubleshoot issues related to performance and data anomalies. Participate in data modeling and documentation of data flows and processes. Support continuous improvement of data engineering practices and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in ETL development and data integration. Proficiency in T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server . Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) in a production setting. Solid understanding of relational databases , data warehousing , and data modeling . Experience with SSIS , Azure SQL Database , and other Azure data tools is an asset. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
