Sous Chef | Newly Opening Restaurant | Stellenbosch Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape Salary: Negotiable – DOE Accommodation: Not Provided Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and skilled Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in a contemporary tapas restaurant in Stellenbosch. This role is hands-on and requires strong leadership skills, creativity, and operational expertise. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and menu execution Prepare and present high-quality tapas dishes consistently Supervise, train, and motivate junior kitchen staff Manage kitchen stock, ordering, and food cost control Ensure hygiene, safety, and kitchen operational standards are maintained Act as Head Chef when required Requirements: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior chef in fine-dining or tapas-style restaurants Leadership, mentoring, and teamwork skills Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations and presentation standards Creative flair and passion for contemporary cuisine Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
