We innovate through a culture of experimentation and ownership. Responsibilities Be hands on — write and review code, and provide expert-level coaching and guidance to engineers. Maintain a love of engineering and a passion for building scalable, elegant systems; contribute to architectural decisions and system maintenance. Do full stack engineering across infrastructure, client side, backend, performance, data, and related areas. Develop people — inspire team members to achieve their potential and integrate A-players into the business. What you’ll Need to Succeed Extremely proficient in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, C#). Strong experience in systems architecture, particularly in complex, scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems. Demonstrable experience as a system owner with operational responsibility. Proficient in lower-level engineering (garbage collection, context switching, threading). DevOps culture — agility, leanness, automation, CI/CD. Good understanding of application security. Passionate about technology and the Internet. Experience working in a successful agile development team. Experience leading engineering teams with 5 direct reports. Ability to operate autonomously, make decisions, set KPIs, with a strong sense of ownership. Practices data-driven decision making. Nice to Have Proficiency in more than one programming language.
