Job Description Job Description Company: Confidential Automation & Controls Integrator Position: Field Service Engineer – Midwest (Travel Role) Compensation: Up to $45/hr Bonus Full Benefits Employment Type: Direct Hire Overview A wellestablished leader in automation, controls, and motion systems integration is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to install, commission, and service advanced automation equipment for customers across the Midwest and surrounding regions . About the Company • A nationally recognized automation and motion control integrator serving manufacturing, packaging, robotics, and process industries • Known for delivering custom-engineered automation, control systems, and turnkey service solutions • Offers a stable, growth-oriented career path with strong training and long-term advancement opportunities • Committed to innovation, customer satisfaction, and technical excellence Key Responsibilities • Install, start up, and service automation, motion, and control systems at customer sites • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control-related issues • Perform preventive maintenance and provide on-site technical support for equipment upgrades and retrofits • Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on system functionality and best practices • Document service activities, system findings, and performance recommendations • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to optimize field performance and ensure customer satisfaction Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in field service, preferably in automation, motion control, or industrial systems • Proficiency in PLCs, HMIs, motion controllers, and industrial networking • Ability to interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems • Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork abilities • Willingness to travel up to 70–80% for field assignments Compensation & Benefits • Pay: Up to $45/hour performance-based bonus • Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance • Retirement: 401(k) with company match • Paid Time Off: PTO, holidays, and travel per diem • Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire • Reports To: Service Manager
