Job Description Job Description Position: General Maintenance Technician Location: Mobile, AL Shift: Mon – Fri 1st Shift Employment: Contract to Hire Position Description: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team and support facility operations at a leading industrial site in [City, State] . In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of commercial and industrial systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations. Key Responsibilities: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems. Conduct shift rounds to inspect systems and document equipment performance, identifying and resolving potential issues before they escalate. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment such as: HVAC units, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor control systems Fire/life safety systems and electrical panels Plumbing systems, pumps, valves, and fixtures Dock equipment, overhead doors, and lighting systems Execute lockout/tagout and other OSHA-compliant safety procedures at all times. Manage maintenance documentation through the CMMS system, including parts ordering, vendor coordination, and work order tracking. Provide clear communication to coworkers, contractors, and facility staff regarding work progress and project timelines. Support facility projects and assist with contractor oversight as needed. Contribute to a team-oriented, “flow-to-the-work” environment with flexibility and ownership of assigned tasks. Required Skills & Education: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school training preferred. Experience: 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or commercial facility environment. Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver’s license required Forklift and aerial lift certifications preferred (JLG, scissor lift) Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems Ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, and maintenance manuals Proficiency with hand and power tools Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, email, maintenance software) Soft Skills: Excellent communication and documentation skills Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or within a team Seneca Resources: At Seneca Resources , we’re more than a staffing and consulting firm—we’re a trusted career partner.
