Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/24/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, pacemaker insertions, and electrophysiology studies. The RN works closely with cardiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after procedures. Key Responsibilities: Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, including obtaining consent and explaining processes. Monitor patients’ hemodynamic status, ECG, and vital signs during procedures. Administer medications, sedation, and contrast agents as ordered. Assist physicians during procedures by handling sterile instruments and monitoring patient response. Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control standards. Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment used in Cath Lab procedures. Provide post-procedure care and monitoring in the recovery area, assessing for complications such as bleeding or arrhythmias. Educate patients and families regarding pre- and post-procedure care, medications, and discharge instructions. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies such as arrhythmias or cardiac arrest (e.g., assist with Code Blue situations). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications: Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN). Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (RN-BC) preferred. Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of critical care, telemetry, or Cath Lab experience preferred.
