Job Title: Adjunct Faculty I, Pharmacy Technician Location: Medical Campus Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Part-Time Job ID: 1008823 Job Details *Job Family*FAC - Part-Time Faculty, Credit Classes*Grade*P1*Salary*$54.37 - Base Rate*Department*Health Sciences*Reports To*Department Chairperson, Health Sciences *Closing Date*Posted on an ongoing basis*FLSA Status*Exempt - Not Eligible for Overtime Compensation*First Review Date*October 6, 2025Position Overview This Adjunct faculty member provides instruction primarily in Health Information Technology courses and other related areas given appropiate credentials. *Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.* What you will be doing * Teaches in lecture, laboratory and/or clinical settings * Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives * Participates in curriculum development and revision that stress innovation and multicultural emphasis * Evaluates and advises students * Participates in departmental and College affairs * Develops curricula * Teaches both, evening and weekend classes as needed * Recruits students * Serves on committees * Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed * Master’s degree in any field; and One of the following valid American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) credentials: Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Coding Associate, Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator; and 3 years of full-time work and/or instructional experience in the Health Information Management Technology field. * All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution * Possess excellent communication skills * Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community * Must be able to travel between campuses, clinical sites and off-campus offering sites * Must possess basic computer skills * Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working nights and weekends * Must be able to work effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment Preferences * For best consideration upload your unofficial transcripts along with cover letter and resume.
