Design Engineer

Position : Mechanical Design Engineer Location : Sheffield Salary : £35,000-£45,000 according to experience Hybrid : No, this is an onsite role in Sheffield Visa Support : Visa / sponsorship support may be available Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, CAD or very similar Fluent written and spoken English language skills Proficiency with CAD (Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor) Able to undertake mechanical engineering calculations (FEA etc)7 Team player, able to work as part of a small, multi-disciplined team About the Role : Accountable for the completion of 3D modelling, detail design, technical calculations, and product development using the internal software and tools. Responsible for assigned portion of product design and development process, ensuring project schedules are maintained while following the standards. Working closely with Project Engineers to reach assigned target Develop the layout of areas of equipment, proposal layout, basic engineering of new mechanical equipment based on Customer requests Carry out complex mechanical calculations Participate in commercial / technical (basic and detail design) meetings worldwide. This will involve customer interaction and other business units such as Civil, Piping, Automation Continuous monitoring on project progress, identify any areas of concern, escalate where necessary and manage customer expectations Coordinate inputs to ensure a winning strategy is clearly communicated and documented. On time delivery of technical documents; in the desired medium (portal upload and/or electronic/hard copies, etc). Ensure technical documents, relevant project related information, MoMs, etc, are recorded and filed correctly on the server. Support sales activities through drawing/document creation and on-site reverse engineering of products. Liaison with representatives from suppliers during technical evaluations of project solutions. Manage expectations, clarify requirements and make requests, including submission deadline changes, as required. Support sales and prepare the data analysis and collection before the project start.
