Data Services Manager - Remote - Up to £85,000 My financial services client is seeking an experienced Data Services Manager to lead and mentor a high-performing Data Engineering and Business Intelligence team. You will play a key role in delivering scalable, high-quality data solutions that support strategic goals and enable data-driven decision-making across the organisation. As a technical leader, you will guide the design and implementation of advanced data solutions, champion data governance, data quality, and management practices, and provide mentorship to a skilled team of Data Engineers. Strong pension scheme PMI Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Engineers and BI professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. Oversee the design, development, testing, and delivery of complex data solutions, analytics, and reporting frameworks. Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance, promoting accurate, secure, and trusted data across the organisation. Act as a technical advisor, providing expert guidance on architecture, engineering standards, and best practices. Support Agile development processes, driving continuous improvement, shorter delivery cycles, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions. Manage resource allocation, workload prioritisation, and team performance, ensuring timely delivery of projects and BAU support. Champion DataOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation to enhance productivity and maintain high-quality standards. Skills & Experience 10–15 years’ experience as a Data Professional (Data Engineering, BI, or Data Analysis). 2 years in a leadership or management role. Proven track record mentoring high-performing Data Engineering or BI teams. Deep experience with Microsoft Data Platform technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks). Knowledge of dimensional modelling (Kimball methodology) and delivering hybrid cloud/on-premise solutions. Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and data quality practices. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps/DataOps, and automation.
