Senior Backend Services Engineer

Job Title: Sr. Backend Services Engineer Employment Type: Contract to hire Employment Duration: 6-month contract to hire Working Location: Greater Vancouver BC area - will have ~monthly on-site meetings, but rest is remote Required Core Hours/Time Zone: PST Pay Range: $70-75/hr CAD Visa: We are unable to sponsor visas or provide any visa transfers About: We're partnering with a consulting company that is supporting a large North American Marina operator developing a state-of-the-art marina management system to consolidate technical operations. Functional areas like slip rental and utilization, point of sale transactions (everything from bubble gum to fuel to food service). Dimensions of the technical challenge include networks and system reliability at certain coastal regions which are heavily weather impacted. Or finding patterns in data (ie. Recreational boating traffic) to optimize operations. They are playing a key role in establishing system architecture as well as development and project operational practices. Qualifications Required: 8 years experience delivering software C# .NET 8 Azure Infrastructure strong DevOps Experience with Microservices Experience with distributed patterns and eventing SQL Experience Nice to have : Orleans experience / Actor model experience Azure IOT Azure Functions Queues Redis Prior experience with decomposing monolithic applications Bonus : Previous POS integration experience Inventory Management systems experience
