Job Description
We are seeking a visionary Director, AI & Business Solutions to lead our clients' strategic AI transformation. This newly created senior leadership role will drive the design and delivery of innovative AI applications, automation, and customer service enhancements using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Salesforce Einstein / Agentforce, and custom AI solutions. In this role, you will lead a team of six direct reports while collaborating with colleagues across the technology group as well as multiple business units to deliver impactful business solutions to the corporation. This position reports directly to the Chief Transformation Officer and represents a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI adoption within the corporation. Note: This is a hybrid role based in Calgary, Alberta. The focus is on candidates who currently reside in the area or intend to relocate. Key Responsibilities: Strategic AI Leadership Partner with the Chief Transformation Officer to execute a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with organizational objectives and an 18-month transformation timeline Oversee portfolio of AI initiatives from ideation through production deployment, ensuring balanced risk and high-impact outcomes Drive measurable business value to agreed targets within 24 months through productivity gains and revenue enhancement Position the corporation as a thought leader in AI adoption while maintaining market intelligence on technology trends and the competitive landscape Team Leadership & Development Lead an integrated team of six direct reports, including business and AI professionals Build world-class AI capability through strategic hiring, targeted skills development, and performance management Foster a collaborative, innovative culture that balances technical excellence with human-centered design principles Guide organizational change management for AI adoption, addressing stakeholder concerns and building confidence in AI capabilities AI Solutions Implementation Oversee implementation of Microsoft Copilot, Salesforce Einstein/Agentforce, and custom AI solutions across enterprise systems Ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and organizational policies Lead complex technical integrations between AI platforms and existing systems (O365, Salesforce, Sage, Azure, legacy systems) Target delivery of 3 major AI solutions annually across production, finance, operations, customer service, and business research use cases Business Partnership & Revenue Generation Partner with core business units to translate strategic objectives into actionable AI solutions Partner, where appropriate, with third-party external partners on AI integrations Provide regular strategic updates to the CTO on AI program progress, risks, and opportunities Ensure all AI solutions enhance revenue, service delivery quality, and organizational effectiveness Governance & Risk Management Assist the CTO in the implementation of governance and policies, ensuring responsible AI development and deployment Implement robust risk management processes addressing data privacy, algorithmic bias, and operational risks Ensure AI solutions comply with appropriate industry regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies Establish metrics and monitoring systems to track AI solution performance and business impact Required Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data/ML, Business Administration, or related field (Master's strongly preferred) 5 years of progressive technology leadership experience in an enterprise, consulting, or SMB environment 3-5 years of hands-on AI/ML program management and solution delivery experience Proven track record delivering complex technology initiatives with measurable business impact Experience leading cross-functional teams of professionals through organizational change Technical Expertise Deep understanding of Microsoft ecosystem (Copilot, Azure AI, Power Platform), Office 365 integration, automation platforms, software development, data, and cloud architecture Expertise with AI tools and platforms, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Salesforce AI, and Microsoft AI Strong grasp of machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, and RAG implementations Experience with workflow automation tools (Power Automate, N8N, Make, Zapier) Understanding of enterprise system integration, data architecture, and cloud platforms Leadership Competencies Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to translate business strategy into technology execution plans Outstanding communication and presentation skills with C-suite and board-level audiences Experience with budget management, ROI analysis, and business case development Proven success leading organizational transformation and technology adoption initiatives Strong commitment to nonprofit values and social impact mission Preferred Qualifications Advanced Certifications Certifications and training on Microsoft Azure AI, Copilot / Studio, Salesforce, or equivalent platform certifications Executive leadership programs from recognized institutions PMP, Agile, Scrum Master, or change management certifications Specialized Experience Management consulting, technology consulting, or internal consulting background Direct experience with large-scale digital transformation initiatives Experience
