Job Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Certified Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) on a fulltime/permanent basis. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Install, assemble, and dismantle machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and part replacement. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to determine the root cause of malfunctions. Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Align and calibrate machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation. Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and equipment status. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance. SHIFT WORK: 2 weeks on days (7am-7pm), then 2 weeks on nights (7pm-7am). QUALIFICATIONS: Red Seal Occupational Standard Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification required (MANDATORY) MUST BE ACCEPTING OF SHIFT WORK (see above) Must possess a valid Class G Driver's License (or equivalent) Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions. WORKING CONDITIONS: The Millwright will work in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. The role may require working at heights, in confined spaces, and with hazardous materials. Overtime, weekend, and on-call work may be required to address urgent maintenance needs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
